‘Bing’ search engine from Microsoft

Written on June 1, 2009 – 1:09 am | by Jayakrishnan

Microsoft is all set to revamp its search engine Microsoft Live with Bing. Microsoft would like to call Bing a decision engine rather than a search engine .Search categories are pre configured including health ,travel, shopping and others together with a fully integrated version of the Earth mapping system and also featuring live flight information along with five day weather forecast and company contact information. Bing would replace the Live Search service by June 3 and local versions could start appearing later. New features would be developed over the next 12 months based on customer feedbacks. Microsoft is planning to advertise Bing big time .It is estimated that an amount of $80million to $100 million is set aside for marketing purposes alone. Will it overtake Google ? Lets wait and watch.
