Though digital rights management itself is a good thing, gets it benefits to the content providers and the copyright holders, most importantly it could limit piracy and also ensure continued revenue flow for the copyright owners, the same time DRM could as well be much a trouble for legitimate customers. One would have issues creating backups for purchased stuffs as CD, or DVD’s, these are anyways perfect legal things to do. When it comes to ePub e-books they support features as DRM, comes as an additional layer that could be added along; and few content providers would go along locking their published content with the DRM system of their own choice as the ePub’s doesn’t specify on a particular DRM system to use, giving the sole freedom to the publishers would go along a DRM scheme to their choice.

One would want to consider about ePub DRM Removal as the purchased ePub e-book comes up with restrictions or is DRM protected. After all you have payed the price for the book, its really much unfair to have restrictions made to what you payed for. One can go along ePub DRM Removal to take off the restrictions put on by DRM and view ePub files on Windows, iPad, iTouch, iPhone, Sony Reader, Android or Nook. Additionally user could convert the ePub e-books to pdf or take hard copies.

If one would search for breaking the restrictions made on ePub ebooks, there are lot ePub DRM Removal software available in the market. Good to have ePub DRM Removal software that doesn’t affect on the quality of the e-books, but it just takes off the restrictions put by DRM. While going along any ePub DRM Removal software, one would really need to check on the quality offered after the DRM removal, most of the software does offer quality same as the original ePub e-book, one click DRM removal are added benefits.

Smartphones are incredible pieces of technology that can help you do almost anything you desire while on the go. You can write emails while sitting in a subway, look up obscure facts while standing in an elevator, and coordinate a ride home while mingling at a party. The list goes on and on. However, despite all its uses, the smartphone often serves the purpose of disconnecting us from our physical surroundings. While it can give us facts, figures, data, and access to people around the world, it rarely – outside of mapping services – provides direct contact with your immediate locality.

Slowly this is changing, though. In a world where range of technologies, T1 included, can support data transmitted by services such as PBB, MPLS-TP, and mpls networks, there are countless ways for two devices in physical proximity to communicate with each other. Simply by holding your smartphone against an object, therefore, can translate into an instantaneous transmission of information from that object to your phone, or vice versa.

This ability to connect with its surroundings is an increasingly important smartphone use – a use that stands to only gain in prominence in the near future. While the applications for this are incredibly wide-ranging and varied, here are some of the main ways that you can expect to interact with your surroundings using your smartphone in the next several years – if you do not already do so.

Payments

Carrying a wallet filled with cash and credit cards looks like it will, someday, become an outdated practice. This is because people can now enter their credit card information into smartphone programs. Then, when they go to buy something, they simply have to wave their phone in front of a special scanner. While security concerns and a lagged adaption by retailers have slowed the growth of this technology, we can surely expect to regularly see it in the near future.

Information

We already use our smartphones to search Google or Wikipedia to learn about something that we are physically encountering. Soon, you’ll be able to take this a step further: by holding your phone in front of a painting, or a car, or a certain type of plant, your phone will be able to process that image and tell you exactly what it is you’re looking at. This is already available for identifying types of flowers, although the technology is still being perfected.

Shopping

Similarly, waving your phone in front of an item at the store will soon allow you to read detailed information about that item and to see a demo of it being used. A select number of retailers, Home Depot foremost among them, already offer this service. Some companies plan to furthermore provide the price offered by competitors’ websites, thus allowing you to price compare while at the store and to leave that store confident with your purchase – or, conversely, with your lack thereof.

These are just a few of the many ways that smartphones will more concretely help people interact with their surroundings in the near future. While it may make your life easier and more complicated at the same time, it undoubtedly will leave you more informed than before.

Digital reading devices have changed the way people read as well as turned the entire publishing industry on its head. The two top contenders are The Kindle and The Nook offering similar and a varying of features. Compare the two leaders in this industry to figure out what works best for you.

Buttons

The design of these two devices has morphed considerably. Currently the most recent models are the Kindle Fire and the Nook Tablet. However there are five other versions of the Kindle and one of the Nook available at varied pricing. o The Kindle Fire now has a touch screen which, at its inception and for several models thereafter only offered a tangible keyboard. However, now that this design only has one button, the on/off switch, it is located in a difficult spot along the bottom which has some users complaining that they inadvertently shut it off now and again. o The Nook Tablet as a touch screen with iPad like capability. It has an easy access ‘n’ button that easily takes you wherever you need to go such as the home screen, settings or web.

Screen

Each device comes with a seven inch screen however the Nook offers their VividView(TM) feature which they claim delivers a full clarity, no air gap experience with reduced reflection and indoor or outdoor no glare reading capability. The Kindle however offers a “chemically strengthened” screen that is twenty times stiffer and thirty times harder than plastic for ultimate durability.

Total Size and Weight

The Nook is slightly larger but actually weighs less than the Kindle. o The Kindle Fire measures: 7.5″ height x 4.7″ width x 0.45″ deep and weighs 14.6 oz. o The Nook Tablet measures: 8.1″ height x 5.1″ width x 0.48″ deep and weighs 14.1 oz.

Memory, Storage and Servers

The Nook Tablet comes with more memory and storage however because the Kindle is linked with Amazon, the number one online shopping network, it touts many more available books, apps and games. The Nook, linked to Barnes and Noble is slowly attaining more titles. o The Nook Tablet offers an impressive 1GB of RAM with 16GB (up to 32GB with additional SD card) of storage. o The Kindle Fire comes in at 512 MB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

Internet

Both models offer wireless wireless Internet capability. Keep in mind that the higher priced versions do not infiltrate your reading experience with advertising pop-ups. The lesser priced models have advertising (that’s why they cost less).

Battery

The Nook Tablet wins with 11.5 battery hours of reading while the Kindle Fire comes in at 8 hours.

Other Features

Both play music, videos (7.5 hours of battery each), include color, apps, games and more similarities.

Overall, it looks like the Kindle still leads due to its enormous library and its $50 less price ($199 vs. $249). However if you are patient, the Nook is a close second and rising.

Slowly but surely, the amount of materials and devices that litter your home is shriveling up. The TV, desktop computer, and everything in between are destined to become one solitary device or system that is your portal to all communications, functions, media, and knowledge that is available to you. Picture an object no bigger than the latest iPhone 4S, but with the power to project a 72-inch HD image onto a wall while remotely handling the climate control of your home five miles away. It’s not a possibility, it’s an inevitability.

While we aren’t quite there yet, it’s worth listing five of the more bulkier mainstays of the household landscape that are now just about gone for good thanks to the prevalence of smartphone technology:

The Radio

While most American families haven’t gathered around the radio for probably at least half a century, the kitchen radio used to rock out during cleaning and cooking sessions has remained a component of most living situations despite the age of the Walkman and beyond. But with the advent of Pandora, and the ability to plug a phone packed with tunes into virtually any speaker system, who needs the AM/FM radio?

The Phone Book

The online white pages directory has existed for sometime, but previous incarnations have historically been lousy at keeping up-to-date information. That’s definitely no longer the case, and the ability to instantly access such information through the very device used to establish a potential connection has made the phone book an archaic waste of paper product.

The Gaming Console

Sure, there’s no way that smartphones are going to come close to the realism and revolutionary environments inherent with the latest PC and game console releases. But smartphone-optimized games have been cutting into the major game market for sometime now, something traditional game developers consider to be a serious risk to their companies. Kids are preferring to play games on their phones instead of on systems, and parents are more willing to buy a $1 download versus a title priced at $59.99.

The Bookshelf

The saddest sight to see disappear from most homes, the bookshelf and its holdings are becoming irrelevant. While Google Books and other smartphone apps are definite reasons for the reduced number of printed titles being bought, credit also needs to be given to the tablet and Amazon e-readers.

The Printer

The best thing to see most families get rid of, the smartphone has sealed the fate of home printers. The expensive and environmentally-negligent method of holding onto information is irrelevant when documents can be stored and emailed with ease, and when things like directions can be provided to you in real-time on the road via smartphone technology.

We aren’t at the technological singularity yet, or even to the point where every modern function we could possibly ever need is accessible through a pocket-sized device, but look around and it’s clear that we’re on our way. When room opens up to get a bigger TV or to buy a new lamp, stop and consider how your smartphone made that possible.

Mobile is no longer about talking on the phone; it’s about, sharing, organising, being entertained and staying connected. It’s become like a remote control for many peoples’ lives. They use it connect in more ways than could have been imagined in the days when mobiles were like bricks, and all you could do was talk into them. Global Mobile Internet use will soon surpass desktop use. For businesses, brands and agencies, this trend is proving to be a force that is completely changing the way that marketing and advertising campaigns are being developed. Whilst traditional marketing techniques like email marketing, print media and banner ads, mobile marketing is cantered around user’s wants and needs. Consumers want a more active role in choosing what they receive and are much more likely to respond and become engaged with your brand using their smartphones.

It is clear that mobile technology is here to stay. Not only is there is a lucrative market for digital businesses to tap into. Organisations and companies would do well to train in-house teams to develop apps and web sites developed with mobile functionality and usability in mind. We at Silicon Beach Training have seen a growing demand for Mobile Development and iPhone app training to reflect the current skills demand.

Whether it is a game of throwing around disgruntled birds, finding your nearest Indian takeaway, or taking retro-style pictures, iPhone users are all on the look-out for the best iPhone apps to make their iPhone engage inform and entertain them. Being the creator of a great iPhone app can get people talking about a company, and with this level of free marketing, it is clear that creating great apps for consumers can pay dividends. This is why mobile app developers are fast becoming the most sought after employees for the digital age.

The role of the mobile app developer is a relatively new one in the digital marketing industry, but businesses everywhere are beginning to realise the growth potential from using IOS training to develop successful iPhone apps. So, how can your business ensure it is doing its utmost to fill the gap between supply and demand of these apps?

Develop your company

Get yourself a developer or train an existing employee! More and more students from computing courses are leaving university looking to become mobile app developers. Even self-taught developers are entering the workforce, creating from their bedrooms. However, if you are a small company, hiring freelance developers without much IOS training can be lengthy and costly.

Turn developers into devel-app-ers!

The simplest way to get on track to join the iPhone app craze is getting your current employees or developers if you use them, to go on an IOS app course. These courses are a great way of ensuring that your employees are getting the exact and specific training they are going to need to make your company a killer iPhone app time after time. Also training your current employees cuts out the hassle of hiring from outside of the company, and means that your newly formed app developer will already be familiar with the company’s needs.

Choosing the right iPhone course

Look around you. The digital marketing sector has spread so rapidly, you are never more than a stone’s throw away from professional help and training. In Sussex, there are more than companies in this sector than you can shake a smartphone at. And with such competition, it is hard to do all training in-house. Companies such as Silicon Beach Training take all the hard work out of keeping your employees in the know. Choose wisely, we provide a five day training course in Brighton, some companies are offering 2 or three day courses. Shorter courses will not be able to provide all the hands-on practise essential for learning. There is more to iOS development than code, you need your developers to know how to get their app to market and make sure it is easy to find in the App Store.

Get creative

Now that you know how to get your company up to speed quicker than you can say “Bob’s your Apple”, get thinking about what fantastic apps you can create to promote your company and get people talking about you. Most importantly, of course, give your consumers what they want. Give them something that they won’t be able to live without and get them sharing!

The iPhone and its apps, have changed the way people view their mobile phones; make sure your company gets the same treatment!

Silicon Beach Training in Brighton provide a range of Mobile Develpment Training including a iPhone Training course. Trainers are all industry professionals with a wealth of experience. Classes are kept small to allow for pleanty of attention and hands-on experience for delegates. All training courses can be provided incompany.

As the internet and technology continue to evolve, expand, and become more mobile and tangible through touch screens and apps (among other things), the world of cross platform development has expanded and creativity in development has reached an all time high. It seems HTML5 is the way forward, and any lingering debate on whether Flash or HTML5 is superior is quickly being quelled.

Recently, Adobe announced it is putting mobile Flash to death, perhaps finally giving in to Steve Jobs’ statement over a year ago that Flash was really “old fashioned”.

Or perhaps Adobe has simply realised that HTML5 is rolling out a new era of development that must be allowed to progress unhindered. Cross platform media, apps, and entertainment success is now determined based on the flexibility of applications to work across various tools and on touch screen technology. Apps, games, and tools which work on merely one tool such as the laptop or desktop may soon become obsolete.

Trends are indeed pointing toward a fully integrated cross-platform world, and indeed a cross cultural one. This is exciting for creative developers, gamers, Android and iPhone users, tablet owners, and entertainment enthusiasts all at once.

So why is HTML5 better than Flash?

1. It doesn’t drain your system: Flash overload symptoms such as battery drain, touch screen issues, and overheating are not an issue for HTML5 supported apps. This means smoother running of programs without draining your phone or tablet.

2. It supports cross platform trends: HTML5 is usable across different types of technology including all androids, iPhones, tablets, and laptops making it truly cross platform and inviting greater integration of development. Interactivity is a key part of the future of technology thus making HTML5 a portal to the future.

3. It embraces and fuels creativity: If you haven’t yet witnessed some of the wonderful creative endeavours produced through HTML5, you really must take a peak. This interactive music video experience from OK Go is a case in point, one of the most exciting uses of music, animation, and video production we’ve seen online. And there’s much more of this to come in the future.

Some may disagree and tout that Flash will remain, but it seems clear to most creative developers that the way of the future is cross platform via HTML5 which allows for enhanced creativity, exciting interactivity and clear interoperability. There are of course more technical benefits of HTML5 for programmers and creators, but I will leave that to the technological gurus to describe.

Essentially, through the creation of mobile internet, tablets, and HTML5, the internet is becoming a tool for connecting the world not just via websites, information and products but also through increased creativity and community. And this is a very good thing.

Guest Post: K Newey is a copywriter and creative script writer who is excited about the future of cross platform developments and its impact on writing. In light of future cross platform and likely cultural interactions cross cultural training and development will come in handy along with training for virtual teams.

A recent study has shown that mobile phones can be of great assistance in targeting areas where humanitarian aid can be put to the most use following a national disaster. It is in such times that the best mobile phones and smart phones can be most useful to mankind generally.

It is accepted that mobile phones and smart phones are a great social tool as mobile access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter has proven. They have even proved to be useful in times of civic uprisings in the Middle East and, unfortunately, used to great success in assisting rioters to organise hit and run raids in Britain recently by allowing the utmost damage to be done by rioters keeping one step in front of authorities. But it is in the area of targeting where to deliver the most effective aid following natural disasters that the best mobile phone applications can be experienced.

Mobile Phones Help Aid Workers

The report of mobile phone usage in disaster areas focused on its benefits in targeting where emergency aid could be most usefully applied. It highlighted how scientists mapped the different movements of population in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. This data became immediately available to them after accessing information from more than two million mobile phones used by the Haitian people who found themselves homeless and displaced. As a result humanitarian aid distribution was immediately channelled where it was most needed.

Phone Data Used to Map Areas of Need

Swedish researchers from the Karolinska Institute working with the Columbia University in the US requested Digicel, Haiti’s largest mobile phone network, to release anonymous information regarding data usage from phone towers following the earthquake. This information was required so that the location of people could be pinpointed more precisely after an estimated 600,000 people fled the destruction of the city of Port au Prince. This information was then used to map where most people were seeking shelter. Much needed supplies were then sent to them.

Cholera Outbreak Restricted

Later that same year, when a cholera outbreak occurred, researchers were once again able to respond quickly by using the same method that was successful following the earthquake. Dr Linus Bengtsson of the Swedish institute reported that within 12 hours they were able to isolate areas of the outbreak by using mobile phone data therefore preventing the outbreak spreading. He said the model they used could be repeated anywhere in the world as 86 percent of the world’s population now have mobile phone coverage.

It can be an overwhelming process when looking into buying a new car. Besides considering features such as brand and body style, it is now a big question whether or not to buy a regular gasoline fueled car, electric car, or hybrid. There are different pros and cons to explore when looking at gas vs. electric such as:

Cost

Generally, electric cars cost anywhere from approximately $15,000, and can get up to the $100,000 range. This is similar to the cost of a gasoline powered car, however, the availability and selection of these vehicles will be more limited. Price differences also occur when two cars of the same model, one gasoline and one hybrid, are compared. The MSRP of a standard gasoline fueled 2011 Toyota Camry is $20,195. The 2011 Camry Hybrid has an MSRP of $27,050, which is a price difference of almost $7,000. This initial price might cause some consumers to decide to go with the less expensive vehicle, but the fuel savings will offset the sticker price, and end up costing the consumer less in the long run.

Efficiency

A person that drives an electric or hybrid car will see major savings at the gas pump. Hybrid cars consume less gas, and fully electric cars require no gasoline at all. The downside to an electric car though is that it only runs approximately 50+ miles before needing to be recharged. This is ideal for people who do not drive much, or only make short trips around town. Anyone that has longer commutes to work or goes out of town often will not find this type of car to be beneficial, since they would need to constantly recharge. Generally gasoline vehicles can get up to 300 miles per tank, but they have crafted hybrid cars to be able to go this same distance using both the electric and gas components.

Repairs

The issue of repairs can be a downfall for those with electric cars. Most mechanics are trained to work on traditional gasoline cars since they are most common. Electric cars would need to go to specific service centers or dealerships which most likely will cost more to service, and gives the consumer less choice.

Environmental Impact

Gasoline vehicles release a lot of emissions which pollute our environment. Electric vehicles release little to no emissions at all. One thing to consider though is that electricity is created from coal, which is also a fossil fuel. Although the pollution will be limited where a consumer is driving an electric car, it still means that there will be pollution released wherever the electricity is being created.

These are just a few things to consider when looking at buying a gasoline or electric car. A hybrid might be a good choice for someone that sees the benefits and drawbacks of both, in order to get the best of both worlds. It is important to research and make an informed decision that fits into a person’s lifestyle, budget, and personal preference.

Mary Flowers is an environmentalist, and works in the finance sector in Toronto. If you’re interested in making a balanced driving decision you should also consider the total cost of ownership. Insurance is often more costly than the vehicles we drive, so we should also consider these costs. Free services like Kanetix provide auto insurance quote comparisons which allow you to get a better handle on insurance costs. They also recently published a white-paper on insurance rates which details the cheapest and most expensive cars to insure.

2011 has definitely been the Year of the Tablet. The iPad 2 is shattering sales records set by the first version of the iPad. Meanwhile, competing tablets like the Android Tablet, Blackberry Playbook and Microsoft Xoom have been gaining in market share and expanding the market for tablet computers. Tablet computers are known for their sleek design, in-between size, and high-tech responsive touchscreens.

But some tablet users find that those touchscreens, which are so delightful to use for gaming or browsing the Web, are much less useful for typing longer messages. The touchscreen keyboard function on most tablet computers is slower and more prone to errors than a real keyboard, and carrying a portable keyboard adds unwanted bulk to the tablet’s sleek profile. For example, while browsing photos of diamond rings will be fun and easy with a touchscreen, if you want to create an organized chart of diamond prices, you may find the touchscreen slower and less intuitive than a keyboard. This problem has resulted in the return of the stylus, that 90’s computer accessory that lost popularity when finger-responsive touchscreens became universal a few years ago. Tablet owners are creating their own styli to adapt their computers to their individual typing needs.

If you own an iPad or Android tablet, you can easily create your own stylus to keep in your computer case. Instead of buying an expensive stylus that you may not use often, creating it yourself is easy and inexpensive.

To make a stylus, you will need an ordinary sponge, a ballpoint pen, and a paper clip. Disassemble the pen and cut a two-inch section of its plastic tubing. Cut a similar-sized section of the sponge. Drill two small holes in the plastic tube, and then stuff the sponge into the tube. Straighten the paper clip, insert one end into the hole in the tube, and then wrap the metal wire around the pen two or three times. Finally, reinsert the plastic tube into the pen case. With a small amount of the sponge exposed at the tip of the pen, where the ink tip used to be, the pen will now function as a stylus and can be used to maneuver a tablet computer with ease.

Now you know how to make a atylus for an iPad or Android tablet.

It’s an exciting time for technology lovers – Apple’s iPhone 4S has recently been unveiled (selling millions within the first three days of its release), and the release date of Samsung’s Nexus Prime is reportedly scheduled for November 10, 2011. So, it’s decision time, folks. Which of these Smartphones should you consider purchasing? It’s actually pretty obvious which phone is the better option – the Nexus Prime undoubtedly beats out the iPhone 4S in almost all categories. Here are the top 8 reasons why the Nexus Prime is better than the iPhone 4S:

The quality of the camera. The Nexus Prime enjoys quite the superior camera features. The phone boasts a 5 megapixel rear camera, as well as a 1.3 megapixel front camera. The Nexus Prime’s video camera is also top-notch – it can record video at 1080 HD resolution.

That whole Ice Cream Sandwich thing. The design of the Nexus Prime is unparalleled – it’s the first Smartphone to run on Google Inc.’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Ice Cream Sandwich is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. It’s a cross between the Android 2.3 and the Android 3.0 (codenamed “Gingerbread” and “Honeycomb”, respectively), and it’s bound to be a tasty treat. The Nexus Prime is also much thinner than the iPhone 4S, making it that much more portable.

The efficient connectivity. While the iPhone 4S enjoys a dual core A5 processor, this is a feature that Android devices have had for a while. The Nexus Prime is the clear winner when it comes to connectivity, due to its 1.2 GHz TI OMAP dual core processor.

The battery power. The Nexus Prime has a 1,750 mAh battery, while the iPhone 4S only has a 1,420 mAh battery. No competition here!

The display. As all good techies know, it’s important to get the biggest display possible when it comes to choosing a Smartphone. After all, you don’t want to be constantly squinting at the screen of your phone when you’re simply trying to send a text message. The Nexus Prime has the better readability factor, with its 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display; in contrast, the iPhone 4S has a mere 3.5 inch touch screen. The Super AMOLED display will have much better color, as well.

The added bonus of near-field communications support (NFC). Unlike the iPhone 4S, the Nexus Prime has NFC – this means that transactions and data exchange will be much, much easier.

RAM. The Nexus Prime comes out on top in terms of RAM, with its full GB RAM –with its 512 MB RAM, the iPhone 4S just doesn’t quite stack up.

Its 4G capability. The iPhone 4S doesn’t even compare here. The Nexus Prime enjoys a 4G LTE capability, while the iPhone 4S only has a 3G capability. This means the Nexus Prime will have a much higher download speed than the iPhone 4S – a very important feature, indeed.
