Hewlett-Packard have announced the launch of an android tablet Slatebook x2. This 10.1-inch tablet can be directly connected to the keyboard by using a dock connector. The best part is that it can even create a mouse cursor on the screen. The users should often touch the screen, the users who got used to a normal laptop with a touchpad mind find this new feature strange. It will take some time for them to get used to it. It comes with 64 GB of storage facility with SD slot available for memory expansion upto 500 GB . It will be one of the first tablets to house Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor. This tablet comes with a plastic chassis instead of brushed aluminum.

This tablet works on a basic version of Android 4.2.2 “Jelly Bean” with very few extras. An attractive feature is the file manager. Though It’s not “sleek” or stylish it just uses a basic folder management system that you’d normally find on a Windows PC. However for a productivity-focused machine, this is quite unique. You will really love the short cut keys which you can use for your favorite apps. You can find the power and volume buttons located on the back, near the left and right edges. Apart from that there is also a Google Now key. You can start typing from the home screen, and it brings up search for the device itself — just like Windows 8. The touchpad also supports gestures like pinch and zoom; it’s of great use.

The keyboard features a full HDMI port, USB 2.0, an SD slot, and an audio port. The dock will also come with an extra battery apart from the one that has been already included in the slate. On the slate side, you can find a front-facing HD camera and a rear-facing 2-megapixel camera. The tablet’s slate’s speakers will also support DTS+ sound.

The screen has a bright 1,920 x 1,200 IPS display. The default background screen prominently displays your remaining battery life for both the tablet and base. Therefore you can also keep track of how much time is left.

The HP Slatebook x2 is expected to be available for sale this summer for $479.99. It is definitely worthy for it’s price as it comes with so many features which you don’t expect. You can wait for a little longer to get this android tablet in your hands.
