iPad Mini and Nexus 7 are two tablet models that have attained immense popularity over the past few years. Both tablets have it’s own plus points and minus points which are discussed below:
Screen : Regarding the screen size, iPad mini has a wider display area, around4.75 inches whereas for Nexus 7’s it’s 3.75 inches. Readability for landscape and portrait mode is better for iPad Mini rather than Nexus 7’s narrow display. The screen Of Nexus 7 is sharp and bright, with a resolution of 1,280×800 pixels, which is great for watching high definition videos with its Tegra3 1GHz quad-core processor.
The screen of iPad Mini is bright but the only problem is it’s 1,024×768 resolution which means it cannot handle high definition videos. However they are still good for serving up Web pages using the inbuilt Safari browser or Google Chrome browsers.

Size and Weight

The Nexus 7 is much easier to hold than the iPad mini especially if you wish to wrap your hand around the device. It’s more narrower than the iPad mini. However, if you wish to hold it by its edge, then iPad mini is better as it’s more lighter. Nexus 7 is heavier than the iPad mini.

When you compare the storage capacity, the iPad mini has 64GB of storage whereas for Nexus 7 it’s 32GB.
A great question is whether you’ll spend $529 on an iPad mini to get that much storage.
Nexus 7 doesn’t have a MicroSD expansion slot, so that you can’t add storage. The iPad mini depends on iTunes to transfer content locally therefore many people find the Nexus 7 easier to use.


Both the tablets have front-facing cameras with1.2 megapixels. Nexus 7 doesn’t have a rear-facing camera.


For typing some people may find iPad mini more comfortable especially those who are used to ipad models. Some find the keyboard of Nexus 7 better designed and organized than the one on iOS. For instance, you can buy a replacement keyboard, such as SwiftKey, from Google Play store at a low price.
