Lenovo has launched K900, a 5.5-inch Android handset with high-end specifications last friday. This the first smartphone to use Intel’s new Atom Z2580 chip, a dual-core processer clocked at 2.0GHz. This smartphone runs with the operating system Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.It was announced at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show.
The K900 is one of the first smartphones in the world to combine a 5.5″ IPS display with 1080p full high-definition resolution performance at 400+ pixels-per-inch, everything under the latest, touch-capacitive Gorilla Glass 2. This will give this phone great clarity and crispness along with plenty of space to capture high-definition photos and video and even for viewing standard-size web pages.
The chassis of this phone is made of a stainless steel alloy and polycarbonate blend which is just 6.9mm thick. This handset weighs just 162g and it easily fits into your pocket or handbag.
“With the K900, our team has broken down the key functions of the smartphone and redesigned them from the ground up,” said Liu Jun, president, Mobile Internet Digital Home, and senior vice president, Lenovo.
K900 offers supreme performance for key functions like web-browsing and application-loading. The camera of this phone allows you to take clear, flash-less photos in low-light with it’s F1.8 focal length lens. It is the first smartphone to offer such a wide aperture on its camera. Apart from the great features available for the rear camera, the front camera too have been widened to an 88 viewing angle, this is perhaps the widest available for a smartphone front camera. You will get the feeling of an inbuilt digital camera within your smartphone.
It is expected that K900 will compete head-to-head with most of the top smartphones available in the market today. The brand ambassador of this phone is NBA superstar, Kobe Bryant is known for his playing style which combines power and grace, similar to the combination of performance and design that makes the Lenovo K900 stand out from the crowd.
Though the initial launch was made in China, still now no official statement was made about the release in other parts of the world. Lenovo has mentioned that it is looking at international markets for a latter summer release, so you can expect this smartphone only by around July or August.
The price of this phone is £350, which is far better than the price of other expensive handset models from HTC, Samsung and Apple that comes with almost same features.
