Samsung is the only company that gave the kind of competition to the high end tablet market dominated by Apple. Even that Samsung could be a long thorn to Apple, lately they been not as good as they were before, they lagged far behind the leader in popularity. Okay their flagships in the Smartphone niche is going quite good, but not really good over here in the tablet market. Looks like Samsung is trying to catch up the lag and New Galaxy Note got some juice.
Galaxy Note is put onto the market centered around two key features iPad don’t carry- a stylus and a host of applications providing note taking and sketching facilities. Next one feature they put in is the ability to view two applications the same time in a split-screen view.
The stylus or the S pen as they call it is cool, a new experience to all who got sick of typing on glass. The device runs perfect, smooth and quick with the stylus and split screens working good as they promise the battery does not much good as it does with iPad, but still it got a decent backup.
Runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich but Samsung as well added couple goodies making ICS even good. Samsung promises updates to the latest Android, the Jelly Bean, dates are unspecified but that should happen somewhere to the later part of the year. Looks the new Note holds is different, plastic case in silver thin border, comes with twin front mounted speakers and a slot to hold the stylus, a design that is thin and lighter than iPad.
Now when you have your stylus taken from the slot, Note displays for you the host of pen compatible applications. The main app for pen is the S Note, easy jotting and sketching, smooth and perfect. S Note as well transforms shapes you draw in to perfect images, circles, triangles or any shapes you draw gets converted to the respective shapes. Mini version support for the images you draw when that is a drawing that needs scrolling. The features it holds and the tag ($499.99 for a 16 gigabyte version) it got tells us its going to be a tough competition to iPad.
