Nokia has officially launched the latest  Windows Phone 8 phone named  Lumia 928  on Thursday.This phone comes with an 8.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera  backed up by a Carl Zeiss lens and xenon flash that offers optical image stabilization for better low-light photography and good clarity pics. It employs a touch-sensitive tech so that you can even work through gloves just like in Lumia 920 series.

 

This handset comes with a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm processor, , 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Nokia Lumia 928 will be available on May 16th at VerizonWireless.com and at your local Verizon Wireless Store for a price of $99 after a $50 mail in rebate.As an attractive bonus for a limited time the buyers of the Nokia Lumia 928 will get a $25 credit for Windows Phone apps and games along with the purchase of the phone.

Lumia 928 is a little bit narrower, thinner and lighter than Lumia 920, but  it’s slightly taller. Lumia 928 model has a traditional look with a tapered backside and are available only in black and white color options, whereas for Lumia 920 model , there are five color choices and rounded edges. This phone is perfect for summer as the screen is easily readable, even in bright sunlight.

Lumia 928 comes with interesting apps like Nokia HERE Maps which offers live turn-by-turn directions. It also comes with unique features like City Lens, that allows you to look through your phone’s camera for nearby points of interest. Internet radio service,  Nokia Music features unlimited streaming of free music playlists which you can listen to even when you are offline.

There is  a smart shoot feature  which allows you to snap five pictures in one burst, while Cinemagraph captures HD video for sharing.

Lumia 928 connects to Big Red’s 4G LTE network for fast data and the carrier pledges it will be “Global Ready,” which means the users can pop in GSM SIM cards to access cellular airwaves worldwide. NFC will be onboard as well for quick Bluetooth pairing with accessories. It uses Internet Explorer 10 for faster and safer browsing.

Nokia has even told that this phone will support wireless charging, the first feature of it’s kind in Windows 8 phones. All you need is to simply place your phone on the Nokia wireless charging pillow by Fatboy, JBL PlayUp or other wireless charging accessories and power up.
