The much awaited curtain  in gadget world has been raised with the release of Samsung Galaxy S4 in Newyork this March. The hot topic of buzz among tech freaks is whether this new series from Samsung shook the doyen position of iPhone 5 in mobile market. Many critics claim that Samsung Galaxy S4 gives stiff competition for iPhone 5.  A comparison of some basic features of these two smartphones are made below:

  • Screen

The screen size of Galaxy S4 is five inches whereas for iPhone 5 it’s four inches. A bigger screen means you can watch videos with more clarity and quality. You can even open more than one app in a single page. However it just make a slight difference of one inch with Iphone. If you are a perfectionist then you can opt for the bigger screen size phone.

  • Resolution

Galaxy s4 has a higher resolution (1920 x 1080) when compared to iPhone 5 (1136×640)which means lesser strain for your eyes.

  • Weight

Galaxy S4 is a little bit heavier than iPhone 5 with a weight of 4.6 oz. If you are looking out for a light weight smartphone then iphone 5 is a better choice as it’s just 3.9 oz.

  • Storage

The storage facility for both the phones are same (16GB, 32GB or 64GB) but the only difference is that Galaxy S4 comes with  a microSD slot whereas for iPhone there is no memory card slot.

  • Camera

Galaxy S4 comes with a 13 megapixel camera. This phone even comes with excellent software programs that helps you to edit and convert any amateur photograph to a professional quality picture. For instance it has got a feature called ‘ Photo blur which allows to blur or erase  a person from the picture. You can even share your pics with your friends having Galaxy phones with the ‘Share Shot Feature’.

  • Network

Both the phones have got excellent networking feature supporting Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G and 4G LTE.

  • Battery  Life

The battery life of Galaxy S4 is higher than iPhone (2,600 mAh). For iphone it’s 1,434 mAh.
