Samsung Ultrabook has stolen away hearts within a short period of time. This notebookis really thin and light. The 13.3-inch screen offers multi-touch facility therefore you can browse Windows 8 and even play games in the side. The 500GB hard drive also offers ample storage space, there is a 24GB SSD that helps it to boot very fast. It comes with an Intel Core i3 processor. Connectivity is also great with a USB 3.0 port and Ethernet socket. Many users claim that this is a complete Windows 8 laptop package.
The keyboard also comes with an excellent layout. The trackpad is also pretty much flawless with a good size. Despite having a small, fast solid-state drive for Windows and a strong processor, it still lacks performance like Series 5. When compared to other laptops using the same CPU there are certain flaws in it’s performance. It uses a spinning hard drive for file storage therefore it slowly browse the contents of your laptop. However you get more storage for the money that you have invested. The large touch pad is responsive enough to single-input commands, but it still has separate left and right mouse buttons below it, which is quickly becoming a dated look.
The 1,366 x 768 screen resolution is quite O.K, however some text and images may appear little blocky, the screen looks nice only and is bright with vibrant colours. The display is nice but offers narrow view angles. When you change the viewing angle, the image gets distorted quite fast.
This notebook comes with a matte brushed-aluminum finish and it resists fingerprints and looks sharp. The front edge of the system creates the illusion that it’s a bit thinner than it actually is. The sides taper toward the front, while expanding toward the back, where they can accommodate ports and connections.
One of the weak points of UltraTouch is it’s battery life. Many says that it is good for home use especially watching a movie or TV shows, if you are using more applications then it will easily get drained off.It last for just 6 hours from its fully charged 52Whr battery which is quite low when compared to other ultrabooks.
There are two speakers located on the underside of UltraTouch loud enough to fill a small space. There is a sound alive software that allows you to set to various musical genres like rock, pop, and hip-hop.
When it comes to apps, Ultrabook offers a vivid range of Windows 8 apps like the operating system’s News, Mail, Photos, Calendar, Internet Explorer, Skype, SkyDrive and Bing. There are also other Samsung apps like Nextflix app, StumbleUpon, Evernote, Norton Studio and Samsung’s S Player movie player, S Gallery and S Camera webcam app, Allshare Play app etc.
