Samsung has finally revealed the release of it’s latest seven inch tablet. It will definitely hit the market sales with the Wi-Fi version coming up globally in May, and the 3G version soon to be released in June. The tablet is named, Galaxy Tab 3 and comes with a seven-inch WSVGA TFT display and a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels at 169 ppi. It encompasses thinner bezel when compared to the previously released Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) version.

Some of the specifications are recently reported by Samsung. The device comes with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor. It comes in two variants – 16GB and 32GB, both models allow you to expand memory up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. It is also packed with a 4000 mAh battery. You can find a three megapixel camera on the back of this camera. There is a 1.3-megapixel front camera as well which is great for video chat.

This tab runs on Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean. The device comes with a 1024×600 pixel screen, which is quite low when compared to the latest tabs available in the market. However, it is capable of Full HD video playback.  A new feature which you will notice in this device is that Samsung has stuffed everything into a 111.1 x 188.0 x 9.9mm package that weighs 302g.

Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and A-GPS/ GLONASS. It’s been said that the tablet’s design gives stiff competition for the iPad Mini and the Nexus 7, however the 1,024 x 600 resolution display is quite disappointing at only 169ppi. It doesn’t matter whatever version you choose whether it’s the Wi-Fi version, or 306g for the 3G variant. You can just wait for a couple of months to get this tab in your hands. The product availability varies by market and will be rolled out gradually.

Galaxy Tab 3 is the successor to the Galaxy Tab 2 that recently received a price cut in India and is now available for Rs. 12,750 and Rs. 16,250 for Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus 3G variants respectively.

There are also rumors around the release of a  8-inch Galaxy Tab.
