Sony Xperia E dual is an affordable dual-SIM smartphone from Sony. If you are a person who don’t wish to carry a smartphone with a big screen, then it’s the bets choice for you. It comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display and it’s very easy to hold this phone. It will even fits well into your pocket. It has a rectangular design with a chrome strip running across the borders. When compared to Sony Xperia tipo dual, Xperia E Dual has a better display and it’s more slimmer. The HVGA touchscreen comes with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This phone comes with android ice cream sandwich 4.0.4 along with a layer of its Timescape User Interface.
A unique feature of Sony Xperia E dual is that it has a small LED light near the earpiece and an entire strip below the capacitive buttons. The colour of this LED strip matches the colour of theme selected by user and can be changed according to your taste. There is a small tri-colour notification LED that changes colour according to the alert or charging/battery status.
The front panel of this handset has a scratch resistant glass with three capacitive buttons for Home, Back and Menu. However these buttons are not backlit, first time users may find it really difficult to use it in dark.
This handset also comes with an interesting texture on the back of the phone. The weave like pattern and the grippy material makes this phone not to slip easily from your hand. Sony Xperia E dual E Dual also comes with numerous internet connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi. The handset is powered by a 1530 mAh battery and the manufacturers claim that it will give you a talktime of 6 hours and 12 minutes and a standby time of up to 530 hours.
Xperia E Dual has the same music player and photo gallery app found in flagship models. From the photo gallery, you can even sort images by month apart from that it even overlay the pics on a map which allows you to see where exactly you took the pics with geo tagging feature switched on.
Many users say that the screen of Xperia E is not that great as the resolution and viewing angles are not good. Though you can easily read text on the smartphone but you won’t find it comfortable when you watch YouTube videos or browse pictures.
There is also an opinion that the pictures taken through this camera in broad daylight comes with too much of noise and the colour reproduction is also not so good. This handset doesn’t have a front camera too.
The price of the Dual SIM version of this handset is Rs 10,990 and the color options available are black and champagne.
