Google has recently announced a customized version of Samsung Galaxy S4 at Google I/O 2013. This smartphone will run the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean 4.2 It doesn’t use the customised version from Samsung. “It’s Google’s take on Android, and it feels really awesome on the Galaxy S4,” said Hugo Barra, vice president for product management at Android during the keynote for Google I/O 2013.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition will receive prompt system updates from the Mountain View-based company. The only difference is that it will offer a skinless version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean which is usually used for Google’s Nexus devices. It comes with a boot loader that is already unlocked and the users will receive updates when they are released. This smartphone is priced at US$649 and it’s been told that it will be available on the Google Play store right from June 26. This Google Edition handset will have 16GB of internal storage. It runs on U.S. network carriers T-Mobile and AT&T and supports LTE too. However there is no idea about when it will be available for other markets.
This handset will be known as TouchWiz-less Samsung Galaxy S4. Soon after the release of Galaxy S4, there have been many complaints reported saying the system’s data is taking all the 16 GB storage available for the phone. Google Galaxy S4 comes with a vanilla version of Android that displays the OS as it was designed to operate. It will therefore consume much less storage, so you don’t have to worry about it.
There is already a controversy remaining in the tech world about Google and Samsung’s relationship. There are many rumors that there is a friction developing due to Samsung’s influence over the operating system. This smartphone comes with a 13Mp rear camera that can capture full-HD video and a 1.9Mp front-facing camera is there for video chatting. There is a dual shot feature which allows you to capture the view from both cameras at the same time.
A person who uses this smartphone will be able to enjoy the same ‘Nexus user experience like never before. It $10 more than the existing Samsung version. Both Samsung and Google Galaxy S4 feature a 5 inch full-HD (1920×1080) SuperAMOLED screen. You will really fell in love with the vibrant colors when you play games and watch movies on this handset. The hardware has a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM.
